2012 Hog Fest

      I Know all of you are waiting for the results of the 2012 Hog Fest. It was a very busy weekend, but with  lots of Help ( and not much sleep) the DPQ BBQ Team of Dana Myers, Karl Grother, myself and behind the scene work of Diane we took 3rd Place in Brisket, Ribs took 12th and Pork 13th with an overall placement of 10th place out of 36 teams on the first comp on Saturday.
      On Sunday there were only 22 teams ( All Pros's ) and we came in 14 th over all with Brisket coming in10 th. also on Sunday One Judge gave our chicken triple 9's and another 2 9's and an 8. So over all we were happy with the results for only cooking in competitions once a year.
      So now we are getting ready for a RIB U Class. It never stops.
      I am also thinking of a weekend class of smoking a Pork Butt and other goodies if we can get 4 couples together. Let me know if anyone is up to it. Thanks and Happy Smoking, Don
